Transforming maternal healthcare in rural Uganda

Produced and Directed by Suzanne Mitchell in sub-Saharan Africa, this short film exposes the urgent need for maternal health services in rural Uganda while introducing audiences to the continuing successes achieved by the grassroots organization, S.O.U.L. Foundation. In this film, we witness the dire conditions that Ugandan women face during childbirth resulting in 47,000 maternal deaths every year and we learn how S.O.U.L. successfully launched a comprehensive Antenatal Education Center that trains thousands of women, their male partners, and Village Health Teams in critical prenatal care. This film was designed to help raise funds for the expansion of S.O.U.L. as they prepare to build a birthing center and midwifery school which will provide women access to a quality healthcare further helping them deliver in a dignified environment.
